Jessica leads the Heavy Motor, Plant & Equipment team, and Marine team, both of which continue to grow exponentially.

Jessica is an experienced litigation lawyer passionate about complex heavy motor, marine, plant and equipment matters and is dedicated to ensuring she obtains the best result for both her insurer and private clients. She has a broad depth of experience in general insurance litigation, complex heavy motor, plant & equipment claims, marine claims and indemnity disputes (including policy interpretation). This includes claims relating to the Australian Consumer Law, including defective goods claim and the application of the unfair contract term provisions in so far as they relate to transport contracts. Jessica loves to solve problems and helps insurers, as well as transport companies, and to fight the good fight in defending claims and recovering large losses.

Jessica prides herself on recovering (and defending) high value claims involving complex legal principles and ensuring efficiency whilst seeking to achieve the best possible outcome for her clients. In doing so, Jessica has created long-lasting relationships with her clients which are built on trust and effective communication.

Throughout her years’ of experience, Jessica has successfully defended multi-million dollar claims and continues to recover large losses on behalf of her clients every day.

How do your strengths contribute to your success in litigation?

I approach litigation with a strategic mindset, clear communication, and a strong focus on outcomes. My background in heavy motor and marine claims means I’m used to dealing with complex technical issues, and I know how to break those down into clear, persuasive arguments. I’m focused on preparation, attention to detail, and understanding the broader context of each dispute. I like to think I remain calm under pressure and I am always committed to finding the most effective path forward. Mainly, I don’t lose sight of the end goal and will push as far as needed to get the right outcome!

What’s important to you when pursuing a claim for a client?

Achieving a result that aligns with the client’s commercial objectives is key. I work closely with clients to understand what a successful outcome looks like for them, then tailor my approach to achieve it.
