Paul has 32 years of legal experience. He emigrated to Australia in 1988. For the majority of this time Paul has specialised in insurance litigation. He has been with Ligeti Partners for approximately 15 years. He worked for two plaintiff personal injury practices for 8 years. He also worked as a claims officer in the Public and Products Liability Department of a major Australian insurer.
He has handled many complex claims and is experienced in the courts and tribunals of Australia.
Paul has considerable expertise in handling claims arising out of public and product liability and building disputes on behalf of insurers, corporate entities and public authorities. He has an extensive understanding of the relevant statutory regimes , state legislation as well as nuisance and negligence claims. He aims to proactively manage claims to bring about an appropriate resolution as soon as practically possible.
He has a special interest in product liability recovery claims acting for plaintiffs and has run many of these to trial because manufacturers fail to understand the consumer legislation.
He is always mindful of the costs involved in litigation and the risks his clients face. He believes the best outcomes are achieved when he works closely with his clients in a team. When giving advice he does not sit on the fence and his clients know what he thinks.
Paul is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and AILA.
