Riley is an experienced insurance lawyer and litigator, specialising in representing insurers and their policyholders in professional and general liability disputes. Riley regularly defends claims in all Australian jurisdictions including the Federal Court. Riley advises insurers on policy coverage, and acts for them in indemnity disputes. He also represents insurers in recovery proceedings.

Riley’s experience includes:
- Representing insurers and their policy holders including health practitioners, building and construction professionals, accountants, owners corporation managers, real estate agents and IT professionals in litigated matters before the Supreme, County and Magistrates’ Courts, and the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
- Representing health practitioners in disciplinary matters and complaints before their boards, and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Providing policy coverage advice to insurers, and acting for them in indemnity disputes.
- Representing insurers in recovery proceedings, across a range of jurisdictions.
- Acting on behalf of policy holders in producing documents and submissions to Royal Commissions. Riley also has experience in advising insurers on policy coverage for Royal Commissions.
